My Hot Italian Sausage Casserole Is So Good

Hot Italian Sausage Casserole

Need a quick, easy dinner?  Then I have a delicious solution for you with this new recipe I made using Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage and those marvelous Dei Fratelli tomato products I was sent to review with this tasty hot Italian sausage casserole.

My recipe is full of flavor with basil, garlic, onion, and rosemary to add even more taste to the mix of tomatoes and hot sausage.  With your choice of pasta such as sea shells that can cradle that luscious rich sauce, this makes a wonderful simple main dish without much fuss.

If you enjoy the ease of preparing casseroles like I do, then I hope you also try my easy dinner recipe for ham casserole.

Hot Italian Sausage Casserole

One lb. Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage, (remove the casing and cut into small pieces)
4 cloves peeled, chopped garlic
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped fine
One 28-oz. size Dei Fratelli Diced Tomatoes
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon of rosemary leaves
2 tablespoons of canola or olive oil
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
One lb. of shells or (a macaroni product) of your choice

Brown your chopped onion and garlic in the oil until lightly golden.  Follow with the sausage pieces that are free of the casing, along with the rest of the ingredients, except for the uncooked pasta.  Cook everything together for about an hour.

Cook your shells or the type pasta of your choice.  Drain and then mix the meat mixture through for an easy dinner.  Grated Parmesan or Romano tastes great to top it with when serving!

ENJOY!

**Disclaimer:  This is my own, honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.  I did receive free Johnsonville sausage from SheSpeaks.com and an assortment of tomato products from Dei Fratti company for this review.**

I am desperately trying to find the dinnerware that you show in this picture. Can you tell me what it is called and where you got that? Thanks so much!

      Hi Heidi,

The pattern is Currier & Ive. I bought those a while back at Foodland. They had a promotion where you bought so much food in order for an opportunity to purchase pieces to complete your set.
