DIY Hydrating Face Mask to Love

DIY Hydrating Face Mask Avocado Ingredient
Avocado is chalked full of excellent skin benefits for this hydrating facial mask recipe.

A few posts ago you might remember that  I shared a great skin care recipe for a homemade mask treatment to help those with dry to normal skin.  Here’s another wonderful DIY hydrating face mask you can also whip up in your kitchen to perk up your complexion and regain moisture.

This DIY hydrating face mask recipe doesn’t require spending a lot of money. The recipe only involves three simple ingredients–avocado, egg yolk and extra virgin olive oil for your skin to benefit.

I depend on avocado since it is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, which is ideal for keeping skin healthy and moisturized while also fighting free radical damage.

With its vitamins A, D, and E for moisturizing the skin and sun protection, egg yolk is also a great addition to this DIY hydrating facial mask. At the same time, this particular ingredient has a special ability to bind water to seal in the skin’s moisture.

Olive oil is the last ingredient that goes into this hydrating mask. I prefer the extra virgin olive oil because it is loaded with antioxidants such as vitamins A, D, E, K to protect against environmental skin damage. It also has squalene, which is a powerful emollient and natural antioxidant.

DIY Hydrating Face Mask

Take one ripe mashed avocado, one egg yolk, and one teaspoon of olive oil and place in a microwave dish.  Microwave this mixture for about 12-15 seconds.

When your microwave bell rings, you take this away and retreat to your bathroom.  Apply the warmed mask to your freshly washed face and vanish discreetly away to the privacy of your bedroom or wherever you go to be alone from the world.  Stay in seclusion while this nourishing mask does it work for your face for about 15-20 minutes.

Only when you hear no voices about and know the coast is clear, you may poke your sticky green-masked face out and dart safely away from hiding to rinse away this ugly, but helpful moisturizing treatment.
