Summer time is nearly here. If you want to wear those new sandals, you want your exposed feet to look their best. You don’t need to spend a fortune on expensive products to handle the task if you know where to look. Surprisingly enough, the best products to help your dry skin and calluses to encourage feet beauty can be found in your own kitchen.
Here’s a wonderful suggestion to improve and beautify feet. After you bathe or shower for the night, you need to head to wherever you keep your vegetable shortening and reach for that can. Apply a generous coat of that shortening to your clean feet before putting on socks. In order for this moisturizing treatment to be the most beneficial, you need to keep those socks overnight.
When you wake up the next morning, your dry skin on those feet will soften better than many of the commercial products I have used in the past.
Maybe you don’t have a dry skin problem, but more what to do about stinky feet. One thing you may like to try is to dissolve two Alka-Seltzer tablets in a small basin of warm water (about four cups). Keep those feet immersed in that treated water for about 15 minutes. However, if you are allergic to aspirin, then do not attempt this Alka-Seltzer foot treatment. Just soaking in water that contains it can cause a serious reaction.
Instead, you can sprinkle baking soda on your clean feet and inside your shoes and slippers. Baking soda can help absorb odors. It also can soften the skin of the feet for help with beauty.
An elderly neighbor told me his doctor once suggested soaking his smelly feet in some lukewarm water with a tablespoon of Clorox bleach. I never experimented with this one myself, but it came to my mind when writing this post. I would check with my own doctor first.
Vinegar is another interesting remedy for feet because the acidity can kill bacteria. Soaking in a basin with some water and vinegar can also help them smell better.
Ingrown toenails can be painful. You may like to try soaking the afflicted foot in some warm salt water. Salt is a natural antiseptic while the warm water helps soften the skin and the nail so it can be easier to work on.
Hopefully, you have happy feet and won’t need to try any of these remedies for feet beauty. However, if you are like the rest of us, then you may possibly find a small bit of beauty and relief in one or more of these suggestions!
