Why Trying to Repurpose Anti-Aging Moisturizers Can Backfire

With the high cost of skin care, you may be tempted to save money and declutter your vanity or dresser with hopes of using an anti-aging moisturizer or cream in place of an eye cream.  However, this is probably not the safest thing you can do for yourself.

The reason you need to be careful is because anti-aging products are not meant for the delicate tissue of the eye area due to their chemical exfoliants, peptides, and antioxidants. Ingredients such as glycolic acid or any AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids) for one are too harsh for skin around the eyes. The result can be very irritating.

The best advice is to read those labels because the skin around the eyes is thinner and much more sensitive than your facial skin.  Just do yourself a favor and think first before trying to repurpose that anti-aging cream!
