NYC New York Color Lovatics Collection Review

NYC New York Color Lovatics by Demi Volume & Length mascara, Lip and Cheek Tints, and Eyebrow Liner

 

You can still look your best without spending a lot of money on cosmetics with quite a few drugstore brands. The secret is finding the right products that work for you like NYC New York Color Cosmetics that never seem to let me down.  Recently, the brand teamed up with their beauty ambassador, Demi Lovato, and released the NYC New York Color Lovatics Collection in Target and Walmart, which I had a chance to try for this review.

Currently, there is just one color of the NYC New York Color Lovatics by Demi Eyeshadow Palette ($4.99) in 02 Natural.  Twelve great neutral shimmer and matte shades are divided into three sections of Discreet Nude, Glamour Nude, and Smokey Nude choices. It also comes with two, double-sided sponge applicators.

These shadows did go on smoothly, but you might want to use a primer to get even more vibrance and longer wear out of these beautiful colors.  You get a lot of color options at your fingertips to create different looks with this inexpensive palette, but its plastic container is less than ideal and needs handled with care or it could break along with the powders.

The NYC New York Color Lovatics by Demi Volume & Length Mascara ($4.99) has a brush with an angle to it that made for a very natural application.  This product did not clump for me and did lengthen more than thicken.

The NYC New York Color Lovatics by Demi Eyebrow Liner ($1.99) that arrived was in Dark Brown.  It has a brush at one end for grooming.  This was a good color since my natural brows are in brown-black.  It did spread and blend well when I needed to smudge it a bit.

The last of this new collection that PR sent included two of the NYC New York Color Lovatics by Demi Lip and Cheek Tints ($3.99).  These sheer tints have a little brush inside like nail polish.

I got the 001 Cheeky Pink and 003 Strawberry. Cheeky Pink is a medium pink almost like a tulip color whereas Strawberry is more a sheer natural red with some plum.  Be sure to moisturize your face first to avoid a splotchy application to your cheeks.  The color will be sheer so just add what you will need with your finger or by painting it on with its brush for your cheeks or lips.

One thing that I do want to point out is you will need to use makeup remover to take these tints off.  Water-rinsing cleanser took the Strawberry tint off.  However, the Cheeky Pink tint would not budge.  I had to use my waterproof makeup remover to get that particular tint off.  I don’t know how easily or not the other tints will work, but I just wanted you aware of this fact.
