The smooth construction of a beauty blender guarantees a more flawless finish. |
Some of us prefer to put our makeup on with brushes or sponges for the best delivery of our liquid and cream cosmetics. However, if sponges are you favorite tools, then you should be aware that you’ll get superior results using non-latex makeup sponges or beauty blenders over the latex variety.
The reason the non-latex makeup sponge or a beauty blender is a better choice is due to the smoother construction, which won’t be so absorbing of the product compared to the latex. You also can be safer from the chance of developing a latex allergy, if your skin happens to be on the sensitive side.
I happen to use both brushes and a beauty blender, depending on what look that I’m trying to do and the amount of time that I have to do my makeup. I found the egg-like shape of the beauty blender is ideal for getting into small areas from doing concealer to overall blending without much effort or dirtying so many brushes. Afterwards, you just have one product to wash instead of several makeup brushes. I also happen to think a beauty blender holds up better to wear than a cheaper bag of latex or non-latex sponges, which you would want to dispose of after use.
For tips on how to determine the best quality of makeup brushes, I suggest you read my other post. You also should check out what you need to know when selecting natural bristle brushes. Both of these posts can save you time, money and frustration for getting better performance and value when shopping for new brushes.
I too prefer the beauty blender over the brushes, though I didn't know about the diffrence between the latex and non latex sponges. Thanks for the tip!
I'm glad to share this tip because it does make a big difference.
