We all tend to have a favorite way to part our hair. Maybe you feel that when your hair divides in a certain place to part that it best compliments you. While this may be true, there is something else that may cause you to suddenly want to try changing your hair’s part.
According to one hair study, years of parting your hair in the same place can take a toll. Continual abuse of running your comb through one section of the scalp can create enough stress to actually widen the area. The reason this bare space can happen is because parting your hair in the same spot every day damages it to the point of breakage.
To complicate the problem is our dependence on hot styling tools that can weaken the hair to dry and split even more, adding to the breakage. To lessen heat damage from your hot styling tools, you might want to read my post on the importance adjusting your hot iron’s heat settings to suit your hair’s texture.
Occasionally, it is a good idea to try changing your hair’s part. When you do, you’ll be giving those abused roots the circulation they need. Instead of pressing them flat, they’ll perk up to stand as they should because they can breathe again.
I don’t know about you, but I would like to avoid extra scalp showing on my head. Therefore, I plan on also changing my hair’s part every now and then!
