My skin is dry most of the year. Nonetheless, hot, humid weather causes me to have a more oily T-zone. As a result, I can tend to break out in that area. I usually turn to homemade skin care remedies such as this Acne Fighting DIY Facial Mask recipe, which I have been using with great success.
This Acne Fighting DIY Facial Mask soothes and exfoliates with lactic acid from its milk and yogurt. It also helps heal any breakouts with its powerful trio of bacteria fighting brewer’s yeast, honey and aloe vera. Usually, my trouble with a pimple happens on the chin or nose. Fortunately, this recipe manages to shrink it quicker than you might expect.
Brewer’s yeast is not baking yeast, but the nutritional yeast that you also can drink or add to your foods besides using for this Acne Fighting Facial Mask. It comes from a single-celled fungus and is high in minerals, protein and nearly all your B-vitamins except for B-12.
You drink a tablespoon of brewer’s yeast in a glass of fruit juice to help even your skin even more. Don’t attempt to drink brewer’s yeast plain because it is horrible. However, drinking this yeast with orange juice makes it tolerable and does help the skin and hair thrive from my experience.
I even treated my guy that has an oily complexion to a facial the other day. He wasn’t too thrilled getting lubed up with this yogurt mask, but trusted me after his last experience with my DIY Oily Hair Remedy. After he washed it off, he noticed how much fresher his skin looked and even remarked how small his pores appeared.

Acne Fighting DIY Facial Mask
1 teaspoon of brewer’s yeast
1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel
1 tablespoon of honey
5 tablespoons of plain yogurt
1 teaspoon of warmed milk
Warm a little milk in your microwave to measure out one teaspoon. You don’t want it scalding hot, but warm.
Add the brewer’s yeast. Mix this and set aside until it starts to bubble.
Stir in the aloe vera gel, honey and then the yogurt and combine well.
Apply to your freshly washed face, concentrating on the area where you have the outbreak.
Keep this mixture on for about 12-15 minutes before rinsing off.
This sounds like a great DIY mask. I don’t suffer from acne but my fiance’ has oily skin and breaks out sometimes. Thanks for the recipe!
