DIY Illuminating Facial Mask Delivers the Glow

My DIY Illuminating Facial Mask Strawberries for the Glow
Your complexion will thank you once you sample my DIY Illuminating Facial Mask recipe.

I am all about exfoliation and weekly masks that are simple but full of nutrition to pamper the complexion and keep it healthy and youthful. My DIY Illuminating Facial Mask is a real delight in the benefits that you’ll notice for helping with cell turnover and overall skin brightness.

My DIY Illuminating Facial Mask is the perfect summer skin treat using fresh strawberry among its ingredients. Strawberries have plenty of antioxidants that gently exfoliate through their mild alpha-hydroxy acids for their part in banishing dullness and encouraging fresh skin cells to the surface that work well in this recipe. Along with plain Greek yogurt that also has another alpha-hydroxy acid by way of its lactic acid, this gives this recipe an extra boost of exfoliation power without being overly harsh to sensitive skin like mine.

I also like to add a tablespoon of honey that is also rich in antioxidants, being a humectant, and one with antibacterial properties to heal as this mask exfoliates. It helps restore moisture and soften at the same time.

Last of all, I use some kaolin clay for its ability to draw out impurities lodged deep in the complexion. I prefer using the white kaolin clay with my dry skin for being the gentlest over the French green clay, rhassoul clay or bentonite clays, which are better for those with more oily or acne prone complexions.

Once you sample this DIY Illuminating Facial Mask, you’ll appreciate the increase in luminosity that your complexion will gain.

Another great recipe that I also use when strawberries are out of season is this DIY Brightening Anti-Aging Facial Mask that you also might want to try.

Though making your own DIY beauty recipes may be sloppier than opening a commercial product, you’ll notice a huge difference in overall brightness, clarity, tone, and smoothness that are well worth the effort. Watch how your complexion will respond when you take the time to nourish your skin properly.

DIY Illuminating Facial Mask

½ cups of strawberries (organic if possible)
2 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoons of white kaolin clay

Take out your blender, add the ingredients and process until you get a smooth berry paste mixture.

If this mixture is too thick, you can add just a little distilled water to help it spread better for applying.

After you wash your face, spread some of the DIY Illuminating Facial Mask over your face and even your neck.

When the mask starts to dry in about 12-15 minutes, gently start massaging it into your skin with fingers using gentle circular motions to work it in. The pressure of your moving fingers help deliver those nutritious ingredients deeper into the pores.

Rinse with lukewarm water and splash to close the pores with cool, not cold water.

If you have any leftover DIY Illuminating Facial Mask, you can store in your refrigerator in a covered container (a clean empty peanut butter jar works great for this purpose).  This prepared paste can keep for up to three days.

I’ll have to remember to use white kaolin clay to do multi masking.
