How to Keep Feet Healthy and Beautiful

How to Keep Feet Healthy and Beautiful Bare Feet Elevated

Taking time to be kind to your feet can help keep them healthy and beautiful.

Keeping your feet healthy is essential if you want them to feel good and look beautiful in and out of your latest pair of stylish shoes. Though you may think that washing your feet daily with soap and water is enough, there is more that you can do to keep feet healthy to prevent ugly foot problems later.

Keep Feet Healthy Through Comfortable Footwear

The best solution to keep feet healthy and beautiful is to wear comfortable shoes. Of course, wedging our vulnerable feet into a comfy pair of shoes is what we all hope for. In reality though, we often trade comfort for a style. Unfortunately, this tradeoff can also have serious consequences if done on a regular basis.

Several solutions can help address this issue from avoiding too narrow a toe box, too high of a heel to a flatter heel. Yet, you can also give your feet a break from those type of painful shoes by changing into a flatter style when going to the office or changing when sitting at your desk. Something else that can help you better banish foot pain during the workday is with toe exercises that you can do without anyone noticing under your desk.

How to Keep Feet Healthy and Beautiful Stilettos

You might want to rethink the height of stillettos or wear compression hose with them to help keep feet healthy.

Help Keep Feet Healthy From Within the Body

Feet also benefit from soothing soaks that can help circulation, soften the skin as well as revitalize them.

Another suggestion to keep feet healthy is elevating your legs and putting your feet up for as little as 20 minutes a day can help swelling, swollen ankles, prevent varicose veins and spider veins.

Keeping feet healthy also means keeping them dry. If your feet sweat a lot, change your socks or stockings because that moisture can cause a fungal infection besides foul smelling feet. You can also benefit from a foot powder or just sprinkling your feet with cornstarch. Inexpensive cornstarch can keep them drier and help prevent blisters.

When you are giving yourself a pedicure, you need to be careful of how you clip your toenails to ward off ingrown toenails. To keep feet healthy, cut your toenails straight across. File the corners lightly just to prevent roughness. However, if you do have ingrown toenails or continue to have pain, you need to seek treatment from your doctor.

What else helps keep feet healthy is avoiding walking barefoot, especially outdoors. Think of all that bacteria that your poor foot may be stepping into that could enter any small scrape or cut. Besides that, the human foot is not a shoe with soft skin that toughens with abuse.

If you follow these simple tips to keep feet healthy, your chances of encountering foot problems could be avoided.

I love to soak my feet in a very warm epsom salt bath. Also, I’ve told my daughter to make sure, when she gets a pedicure, to tell them how to cut her toenails.

If your feet hurt. your whole body hurts.I rarely wear heels. My feet get so dry in the winter. Lots of lotion helps.

Good information! I always pamper my feet. Lotion daily and regular pedicures go a long way!
