How the 2019 Screaming MiMi Fuego Box Hot Sauces Differ
The first one in the 2019 Screaming MiMi Fuego box was the grand champion of Indian Summer from Jersey Barnfire. This yellow-brown sauce is delicious and versatile Carribean-inspired with some fruity sweetness to its heat and spices. It’s not overly hot, but a wonderful compliment to enhance anything from scrambled eggs, chicken, burgers to fish.
Hellfire Hot Sauce from Ritual won the first place award in the fruit-based hot sauce category. This is a fiery tropical, spicy heat blend topped off with touch of rum. Oranges, mangoes, papayas, pineapples, and peaches give it a brightness that works well with the blend of three trinidad scorpion, 7-pot primo and orange habenero peppers. You might want to try it on a burger like I did, grilled chicken or seafood.
The last winner in the 2019 Screaming MiMi Fuego box was Chipotle No. 4 from Culley’s that came in as another first place in the chipotle hot sauce category. This is medium heat with some smokiness to the spices with roasted red peppers and chipotles. I had this on some fried fish and loved the taste. Next time, I am going to experiment and add it to my chili.
