A family member wanted a watch and didn’t want something expensive. Well they have plenty of those at Target and Wal-Mart. But a funny thing happened I got a $5 coupon from Ebay. Then it dawned on me that I could possibly use that amount toward an inexpensive watch. With this goal in mind, I began searching Ebay through what seemed like pages upon pages of watch listings for a watch bargain.
After a while, I was about ready to give up because of the wrong styles, price or just too many functions for what he wanted. Though that $5 Ebay coupon was burning a hole in my pocket, I was running out of time before it expired when I finally discovered a watch that fit his demands. Now I know I said I spent three cents and I did. I actually bought two items!
What’s the catch? I can almost hear your thoughts of the inferior quality of these two watches. Naturally, I assumed the same thing of what workmanship you might expect for less than $5.00 for two watches.
I don’t want to burst your bubble, but I was shocked also by what arrived once getting through those plastic bags that contained the watches. To my utter astonishment, the cases of both appeared to be metal. They advertised in the “buy it now” new listing as stainless steel. Furthermore, the crystal of each watch looks thick and not made of cheap plastic.
I can still hear the wheels of your mind turning. You’re thinking something this inexpensive has to be junk and not work. Of course, I had that thought in the back of my mind as well. But wait, this purchase gets better because both watches keep accurate time. This is amazing, right?
Guess what happened? My often hard-to-please guy loved his cheap watches when I finally presented them to him. So you can get some very decent things online and bargain basement prices. Ebay is an interesting place to browse for all sorts of merchandise all right.
The watch listing was an Ebay “buy it now” new item selling for $1.99. This particular watch coupled with my other big purchase for $3.09, after the coupon, amounted to a grand total of eight cents. People don’t even pick up pennies off the street anymore!
Now I have seen web sites like Gearbest.com and even Amazon.com with cool and very cheap watches too. I have to try them one day. I’ve bought big items from Amazon.com and love their site. Gearbest.com I just stumbled across. They have some interesting items of all sorts but I’ll let you know about them if I find something there.
Now the $1.99 watch, which cost me only a few pennies, also gave me free shipping. Now how they did that little trick is puzzling to me. The postage would have had to be more that $1.99!
Well, I love a good bargain and my family member loves the watch. He wanted big numbers and no calendar. There are fewer things to set he told me.
My point is that price does not always guarantee quality. There are some sensational online deals such as spots like Ebay and my eight-cent total purchase for two watches.
My watch bargain was really great. When you get a coupon of any sort it always pays to check it out and see what you can buy. You might surprise yourself and get a far higher value than you could imagine.
