Okaysou Air Purifier Review: Medical Grade AirMax8L

Okaysou AirMax8L Box and Unit

Allergy sufferers like myself can be easily irritated by indoor allergens from dust mites to mold spores and animal dander from our pets. Despite how well you clean to allergy proof your home, those minute particles that end up in the air of our homes can contribute to more headaches and respiratory issues. Investing in an air purifier can help catch some of the irritants that can set those symptoms off. Therefore, I welcomed the opportunity to review the Okaysou AirMax8L Air Purifier, a medical grade solution to purify air in the home.

What appealed to me about the Okaysou AirMax8L Air Purifier was that it had a five-step filtration system for really tacking all the trapped contaminants that are even worse in the winter due to our heating systems and stale air locked inside. The first layer is basically the initial line of defense to capture the main dirt and solid particles. The second layer is the HEPA layer that further refines the filtration before moving through to a third layer that has antibacterial properties. Yet, the fourth layer consists of a carbon filter that due to the capabilities of carbon can bind molecules and trap what the other filter layers missed. By this time, this air purifier is advertised to catch 99.97% of those troublesome particles before moving to the fifth layer that traps gases, smaller bacteria, viruses, smoke as well as other contaminants, which impressed me before I even turned it on.

This is a fairly tall unit (14.17 x 9.52 inches) that has three fan speeds, a sleep button that runs softly for more restful sleeping, a timer button for customizing the working time, child-lock button, and a filter replacement indicator that will light up when replacement is called for.

After we removed this Okaysou AirMax8L Air Purifier from its box and unwrapped it, you need to open the back cover. Once you do, there was a plastic cover over the filter that we had to remove before snapping it back and turning it on. You always have to check or your machine will not work.

Though this air purifier filters through five layers, there are actually three separate pieces that consist of two filters, a single and duo filter. According to the company, they last about six to eight months before a replacement would be needed. You also will have to buy them specifically off of Okaysou and not your home center like you do your furnace filters.

I have never used an air purifier so I really didn’t know what to expect. This air purifier is relatively quiet as it operates, which surprised me for one of its larger size moves the air. I moved this unit to my bedroom to see if it helped with my allergies and related sinus congestion.

The first night I turned it to the sleep mode and then found it was even quieter. It does have a tiny bit of light coming from it so I moved it slightly out of my view before crawling into bed. In the morning, I noticed I wasn’t as congested as usual and had less post-nasal drip.

The next night, I slept on one pillow instead of two that I used to help the sinus drainage, which was great for my neck.

I never realized how helpful an air purifier could be for anyone with allergies and related health problems, but it does make a big difference in how you feel. I can’t speak for everyone, but for myself it is a real find! My advice is to check the Okaysou AirMax8L Air Purifier from this review out to improve the quality of your air and a healthier home.  You can find this medical grade air purifier at the company’s Amazon website.
