My Spam Pasta Is Hard to Resist and So Simple to Make

Spam Linguine Pasta

I have been cooking from what is on hand in my pantry and avoid grocery stores as much as possible. Spam canned meat comes in handy for making a variety of dishes from casseroles like my extraordinary spam casserole with crushed pretzels, mushrooms, potatoes, seasonings, milk, and chicken broth as well as another with tomatoes and mushrooms. However, I made a spam pasta that was out of this world delicious with some Cheddar cheese, fresh mushrooms, onion, peas, lemon pepper, and avocado oil for lending it that wonderful mild avocado taste and gorgeous yellow color.

Being the thrifty cook that I am, I also can assure you that this spam linguine pasta is an economical recipe because I only used half of the can. With the other half, I usually make a hot sandwich with barbecue sauce on a homemade bun for a lunch.

It is also another easy dinner because there is not much to do, which is important if you are a lazy cook like me. To make this canned ham pasta, you’ll just be cubing the meat, chopping onion, grating cheese if you prefer to buy it in the solid piece like I do, slicing mushrooms, opening a can of peas and then boiling a pot of water for your pasta. Afterwards, you just brown on the stove and throw your ingredients together.

For anyone that never tasted avocado oil, you really should give it a try for the flavor excitement it can bring to your cooking. It is as healthy as olive oil with many of the same properties with the exception of having slightly less vitamin E.

Avocado oil with a bounty of oleic acid is a highly desirable, heart-healthy fat that is good for the body for help with cholesterol, arthritis to the eyes due to its antioxidant of lutein as well as other great vitamins and minerals. Something else that I want to point out is this oil is low in polyunsaturated fats compared to canola oil, soybean oil or corn oil. Being lower in polyunsaturated fat translates to avocado oil can produce less inflammation in the body, which is great when using more of this oil in a recipe like a spam linguine pasta in the sauce.

When you want to make something different for dinner, consider my recipe because it is delicious.
