The best deep clean that your hair can experience is one that invigorates and exfoliates the scalp. After all, exfoliation is essential for removing dead cells, product build-up and stimulating blood flow to the scalp to keep hair healthy and optimally prepped for growth. This diy scalp scrub recipe is what you want to try for nourishing the hair so it thrives to its full beauty potential.
The first ingredient that I used for this homemade scalp scrub is apple cider vinegar, which is antimicrobial and antifungal for its contribution for clearing the scalp, which lessens dandruff and itching.
Extra virgin olive oil has beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants for improving the scalp’s circulation and soothing it. At the same time, this oil can care for and feed starving hair follicles. The reason that you want extra virgin olive oil is because it has most to offer over more processed olive oil that loses some of its nutrients through the heating process.
Sea salt is a great and gentle exfoliant for stimulating blood circulation in the scalp. It also has hair growth nutrients such as calcium, zinc, magnesium, sulfur, etc. By the way, the Himalayan sea salt is the richest source of those wonderful nutrients.
Honey is another ingredient in my scalp scrub that I used. It is a humectant as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory to keep the scalp calm, healthy and soothed.
Finally, I added a few drops of rosemary essential oil to this scrub. The reason I thought to add it to the recipe because some studies have shown that rosemary essential oil may have powers for hair growth like Minoxidil does for baldness.
I hope that you give my recipe a try. Use it no more than twice a month to save any risk of irritating the scalp. Sometimes, we overdo beauty treatments thinking that more is better when it really is not.
