3 Steps to Keep Summer Hair Glowing Into Autumn

Summer Hair Glowing into Autumn

Summer is when spend more time outdoors doing all those fun things we love from swimming to working on our tans. Regardless if we use hair color or not, the shade of our summer hair could have lightened considerately from our usual color. Many of us will love the amazing highlights for brightening the hair and framing the face while others of us may be facing more brassiness. Yet, if we hope to keep summer hair color glowing into autumn, then here is a plan that you need to follow.

In order to transition our hair color from summer to keep it vibrant and glowing first calls for removing all product residue and any lingering traces of chorine and salt with a gentle detox hair shampoo. You may think a clarifying shampoo would serve the same purpose. However, there are differences between them. A detox hair shampoo uses more natural active ingredients over synthetic ones that can be harsher on dryer summer hair. On the other hand, a clarifying shampoo can also strip away those same things including hair color. The detox hair shampoo that you use once a week can also do one extra feat of removing built-up environmental toxins and is safe for all hair types, hair color and chemical treatments you may have since it is capable of keeping hair better moisturized.

The second step is tweaking the hair’s color if you intend to keep summer hair glowing into autumn. Perhaps, your hair is brassier than you like with too many orange tones, which is a terrible problem for those of us that are brunettes. You can counteract that problem by picking up a blue-tinted moisturizing hair mask. This particular product can return some color to cancel out the orange undertones and hydrate dry summer hair at the same time.

Blondes or those with gray hair may find a purple moisturizing hair mask can better neutralize the undesired yellow tones in their hair. This may be a great solution to improve color and condition.

The third step to keep summer hair glowing is concentrating on its shine. A simple way is using a rinse of apple cider vinegar on your hair after shampooing. I like to use one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to one cup of water as my final rinse. In case that you’re wondering, apple cider vinegar is safe for hair color and will help balance your scalp’s pH levels.

Following these three steps can best continue that lightened summer hair color for you into autumn so give it a try!
