It is spring, which is wonderful with warmer weather and nature coming back to life. Unfortunately, it is also prime time when insects like ants will be also returning to cause you grief once you find them in your home. You may think that the only way to deal with these disgusting insects is to visit your home center and pick up ant spray or traps to get rid of these uninvited guests. However, I am going to tell you a better solution for how to get rid of ants with confidence.
The best thing that I ever used to kill ants is a product called Terro liquid ant bait. By the way, I am not getting paid from their company or some public relations agency to pitch this ant killing product. I am simply sharing this product with you because it honestly will work and take care of those ants so keep that in mind.
What you do when using this Terro liquid ant bait is first finding the location of where your ants are entering from. This is very important than attempting to lay the small pieces of cardboard with some of the liquid bait. The ants may take a day or two to find this “food,” but once they do they will eat their fill and then carry more back to the ant colony.
Soon you will notice the cardboard pieces will have a lot of ants dining. Once the ants finish or nearly finish what is on the cardboard, you replenish it and keep doing so until no more ants visit. Afterward, you won’t see these annoying bugs again that year unlike always running for your can of ant spray or more traps.
Your cardboard does matter. I found the ants don’t care for the shiny side of cardboard and prefer the dull type of paper. You also don’t want a super thick piece that will be hard for their tiny ant legs to climb up on. They prefer the flatter cardboard.
If you have small toddlers or pets, then you may want to look into other forms of Terro ant killers with their traps or stakes for the yards to be on the safer side.
Trust me on this, but I have used many different types of insect sprays and ant traps to home remedies in my attempt to get rid of them and none worked to my satisfaction. However, the Terro ant killer is the best way for how to get rid of ants that I highly recommend for those experiencing this same problem. Believe me, you will thank me for this information once you try it.
