If you dismissed hot sauces because of what you tasted from the types that you found locally, then you truly are missing what artisan sauces have to offer. There is more to their flavor than a burn with sweetness to different recipes and spice combinations that change the dynamics of the flavor and heat that can bring something special to your table.

For instance, Fuego Box September 2021 stars Mango Pineapple Habanero from Freaky Ferments. This is a tropical fruity hot sauce with an exciting blend of bright sweetness to fiery heat from orange habanero peppers. I consider this hot sauce a medium heat that was sensational on my tuna patties yesterday. It also would be tasty on grilled meats, chicken, dressings, etc.

Next in my tasting, I tried Serrano Cilantro from Little Dick’s. This is an olive green colored sauce with a lot of fresh herbs, mainly cilantro to compliment the Serrano peppers in this medium heat sauce. This one was wonderful on my scrambled eggs, but would be great on practically any dish that you use hot sauce on.

Last of all, I enjoyed Plain Flame from Hot Sauce Shero. This one eliminates sweetness in favor of coaxing all it can from veggies and herbs like basil and cilantro and when fashioning the recipe with Scotch peppers. The result is a delicious marriage of flavors with a medium, but perky heat in a versatile sauce.

With this pandemic still raging, strengthening your immune system is a good idea, especially during cold weather when the body is more vulnerable to the flu and viruses. After all, hot peppers have loads of antioxidants as well as beta carotene for defense. Here are some other foods that are excellent to boost the immune system that you may want to read as well.

The cost is $29.95 per Fuego Box with no extra charge for shipping within the United States when you subscribe. Inside each box, you’ll also find a card with details on each sauce and how to best to enjoy. Check their website out!
