Berry Smoothie Recipe for a Satisfying Light Meal Replacement

This recipe makes two servings of this size.

As you know if you follow my blog, I have been trying to make a healthier change to our diets after some weight gain during lockdown from this pandemic. Honestly, what I have been doing has been working and I have lost twelve pounds so far. Besides avoiding breads as much as I can in favor of homemade soups for lunch, I have also been including more smoothies fortified with protein now that the weather has been warming up. You may think that making smoothies as a meal replacement for lunch or breakfast isn’t worth the effort or expense, but I don’t have a problem now that SmoothieBox is in my freezer. Let me share a recent smoothie recipe using their berry smoothie pack, whey protein and few satisfying extras that I am particularly fond of for health and nutrition that you should taste yourself.

The best part of a SmoothieBox subscription is that you don’t have to worry about if you have all the ingredients on hand in your refrigerator to make a smoothie when you’re in the mood for one. You also don’t need to bother buying several types of fruits and vegetables just for this purpose that can spoil before you feel like it or have the time to clean and process them for a healthy drink.

I love just pulling out my blender and adding my liquid, whey protein and a few healthy extra ingredients to vary my recipe and I’m good to go. With the berry smoothie pack I can create new flavors just by altering a few ingredients. I will be sharing more of my smoothie recipes with you, but seriously I love smoothies and this healthy drink subscription.

Here is one of my favorite recipes for a SmoothieBox berry smoothie that makes two tall servings. You can use plain pomegranate juice or a pomegranate-plum juice that is also 100% fruit juice without any artificial sweeteners.

Berry Smoothie Recipe

1 pack of SmoothieBox 5 Berry Smoothie (makes two servings)
1 cup of low-fat milk
½ cups of pomegranate-plum juice or just plain pomegranate juice
1 tablespoon of peanut butter or your favorite nut butter
1 scoop of whey protein (scoop is included in the container)

All needed was walking to the freezer to pull out my Berry Smoothie Pack from SmoothieBox to place in a blender, followed by the milk, peanut butter, and scoop of whey protein.

Blend until creamy and pour into two tall glasses.

To change this recipe, I use an almond, cashew or coconut milk and throw in a ripe banana with 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon.

ENJOY!
