Some people dismiss the idea of adding hot sauce to their food without really giving it a try, thinking that all of them merely burn and taste about the same. However, they probably are comparing grocery store varieties instead of the artisan crafted hot sauce that you find in every Fuego Box such as the August 2022 assortment. If so, then let me fill you in on what you have been missing.

What I really like about a hot sauce subscription from Fuego Box is that these sauces come from small companies with a passion for spicy hot with their unique combination of ingredients that can’t come close to what you usually find. Every month I can be guaranteed that my taste buds are going to experience something wildly different to spike up flavor of dishes. At the same time, hot peppers are healthy and help rev up the body’s metabolism, which I always welcome. If this appeals to you as well, here is what my latest trio of artisan crafted hot sauce Fuego Box August 2022 brought along.
The first sauce I discovered this month was from Earthquake Spices with their Death by Garlic–Roasted. Roasted garlic is in this sauce that also features great spices and a mix of habanero and jalapeno peppers lend a nutty medium burn that is so satisfying. I loved this on fish, but this also would be tasty on poultry and rice dishes.
Next, I sampled my first Cuban hot sauce called Jalabao from the Barbaro Mojo brand. This one is a milder heat with jalapeno and green peppers, tomatoes, sweet onions, and Cuban spices that round it out beautifully. I tried this the first time on my scrambled eggs. It was delicious.
Finally, there was Habanero Lime from the Smoke Show company. The flavor was surprisingly perky with a riveting fruity sweetness against the juicy freshness of lime juice and roasted bell peppers that managed to control the right balance of medium heat to flavor. I had this on my roasted chicken and found it quite good.
The price for a monthly Fuego Box that contains three artisan crafted hot sauces is $29.95 with free USA shipping. You also get a card with information on the assortment and ways to best enjoy. Seriously until you taste the difference, you really don’t know how much new flavor can await for waking up your taste buds. Trust me, but it is so much more than mere heat!
