Even though I do a lot of cooking and baking, I never got around to trying an air fryer. Therefore, when Okaysou reached out to see if I would be interested in reviewing their Smart Control Air Fryer, I looked forward to testing this small unit out.

The Okaysou Air Fryer Dance 430 is a smaller compact model that has a 4.3 quart capacity that is perfect for someone alone or a couple. The temperature can range from 180 to 400 degrees with a time range of one to 60 minutes for this 1500 watt small countertop convection oven that is an alternative to deep frying. It has a touch screen display with eight preset buttons. This electrical appliance has one basket and an inside tray. This smart control cooker also has a two-year warranty.

Before you begin cooking, you need to preheat this small appliance at 400 degrees for three minutes first. Afterwards, you have eight symbols to select from for the foods you want to cook with recommended times such as for French fries, cake, steak, chicken, bacon, vegetables, fish, and shrimp.
Being my first time, I decided to start off by making a batch of French fries. The directions said that you can line the basket with foil for an easier cleanup, which I intend to do next time. What I did was peel four large Russet potatoes, sliced them in half lengthwise, then put the halves flat on the cut side before slicing into about quarter inch strips.

I placed my cut fries into a bowl of cold water to remove some excess starch. I changed the bowl and repeated this before thoroughly drying them off first before proceeding.
Usually for oven fries such as my herb seasoned fries, I use three tablespoons of olive oil to coat them with before transferring to a baking sheet. For use in the Okaysou model, I just used one tablespoon before depositing in the inner basket along with shaking salt over them.
These French fries took 17 minutes as directed to get the look of what is in my photo. If you want them darker with more golden brown color, you do have the option of pressing TIME or TEMP arrows to adjust either of those settings. However, I thought these fries were delicious. They were soft and tender inside and crunchier on the outside.

Now that I am more familiar with this kitchen appliance, I was wondering how baked donuts would be to replicate greasy regular donuts. I haven’t had one in years. Being the case, I think my next attempt will be making baked donuts in this machine so stay tuned.
With the holidays zooming in closer, the Okaysou air fryer may be something to think about for any relative or friends that live alone or are watching their diet.
