My Cheddar Biscuits Recipe Makes a Wonderful Addition to Any Table

Cheddar Biscuits

Though you can enjoy my recipe for cheddar biscuits any time of the year, I am particularly fond of them during cold weather to accompany soup that I make for my lunch. These are really delicious and flaky with a mild Cheddar cheese flavor. They are even better when you serve them warm from the oven. Even if you don’t make your own homemade soup, these biscuits taste just as awesome with a bowl of condensed cream of tomato soup.

This recipe does require a bit more effort than a plain drop biscuit. You not only need to grate the cheese, sift the flour before assembling the rest of the ingredients and combining them into your dough, but it also needs you to roll this biscuit and cut into rounds.

I love biscuits and do have a few other delicious recipes for cheesier biscuits with herbs that you also may want to try. My cheese biscuits have lots of Velveeta cheese and herbs that are also very good. Check out my savory cheddar cheese biscuits as well.

I hope when you get a chance that you’ll be in the mood to bake these or any of my biscuit recipes to add to your meal.

Cheddar Biscuits Recipe

1-3/4 cups of sifted flour
½ teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of baking powder, leveled
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 cup of canola oil + 1 tablespoon
2/3 cup of milk
½ cups of firmly packed grated sharp Cheddar cheese

Sift your flour with the dry ingredients in your mixing bowl.

Stir in the oil, milk and cheese next and combine to mix through gently.

Roll the dough out until about a one-half inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.

Use a cookie cutter, biscuit cutter or a glass to cut the dough into rounds.

Transfer to a greased baking sheet and bake in a 350-degree oven for about 15 minutes. You can test for doneness by inserting a toothpick, slender knife or cake tester to see if anything sticks.

ENJOY!
