Sage Tea
Total Time
45 mins
I never tried sage for tea until discovering all the health benefits by a friend that drank it on a regular basis for pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.
Course: beverage
Cuisine: American
Keyword: herbal tea, pain relief tea, sage tea
  • 3 cups of boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh or dried sage leaves
  • squeeze of fresh lemon optional
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey optional
  • 1 teaspoon of pure maple syrup optional
  1. Boil the water and then add the sage.
  2. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer the sage in the water for about 25 minutes.
  3. Don’t drink this sage tea immediately. Instead, let it stay in the covered pot for about 20 minutes before straining and taking your first cup hot as plain or with a squeeze of lemon, a teaspoon of raw honey or a teaspoon of pure maple syrup or transferring to your refrigerator.
  4. When you are in the mood to drink another cup, just reheat.
  5. ENJOY!
