Reading is something that I am passionate about. If you share this love for the printed word as much as I do, then you would to hear about Open Library. Openlibrary.org is a great place to find those hard to find books that are out of print. I was trying to find a book once since I read a book someone gave that was actually book three in the series. It was a great book and I didn’t need the other books but I wanted to get the whole complete story.

I love old books and have spent a lot of time perusing book shops, flea markets, and garage sales to feed my need for the next great read. I found a lot of new best sellers but sometimes you just can’t find the old stuff like that particular book I was searching for to complete the series.
It took me quite a while to find the book. It was out of print for years and it wasn’t by a well known author. I actually found one copy for one year at a garage sale. I got lucky for one of the books. The others I found on Open Library. They get books and actually scan them into their system and you download them in Adobe Digital Editions or other formats or just read them online.

Adobe Digital Editions is a free program and you can even have the program read the book to you, if you want or displayed as text. But it displays the print very nicely on your e-reader.

I know many may say that Amazon.com will have it and they most likely will. Regardless, it may come from a private seller. Ebay has them too. But firstly you have to pay and then store the book if you can’t get rid of it. What is most important, you are paying for the book when it may not be necessary.
I love libraries a lot. Furthermore, I get many of the latest books and movies from them. But they get rid of books when people don’t take them out as often. Their reason for doing so makes sense since they don’t have unlimited space. However, Open Library is all digital and it’s like wandering through an old used book store on a book hunting adventure and it’s all for free. My advice is if you’re an avid reader to check their huge selection of reading material out for free books online because this is a wonderful resource to take advantage of.
Funny that you had Clive Cussler’s book showing……… My favorite author and I have all of his books. These are reread ever couple of years. I am a major reader so I will be checking this site out.
I had no idea this even existed. I am going to check out Open Library! Thanks for sharing!
